Slime Science Recipes!

Insta-Snow Slime

Ingredients:

1 tsp Insta-Snow

Liquid Starch

1 Bottle Elmer's No-Run School Glue Gel (an extra bottle on hand may be a good idea)

Directions:

Put Insta-Snow in a bowl.  Add a splash of liquid starch to the snow and stir (it might look a little crumbly at first, keep stirring).  Add enough liquid starch after the first is incorporated until it is liquidy (should look transparent and like there is more liquid than snow).  Add the full bottle of glue and stir. If it is too sticky, add a little more liquid starch to the bowl. It may form a clump around the spoon and slide around in a small amount of starch which is just fine!

Begin to knead the snow with your hands. It should be wet and stringy but NOT sticky.  Knead and fold and stretch it until it easily forms a single mass. Make sure you got all of the glue out of the bowl.

!!! - IT’S STILL TOO WET WHAT DO I DO? Try adding a small amount of glue. This may make the need for a little more starch later.

!!! - IT’S STARTING TO GET HARD AND NOT STRETCHY! Add a little more liquid starch and knead it into the slime.

Store in an airtight container.

Glow Slime

Ingredients:

Liquid Starch

Elmer's Washable Clear School Glue

Glow in the Dark Craft Paint

Directions:

Pour ¼ cup of liquid starch into a disposable cup or bowl. Stir in 1-2 Tbs. of glow-in-the-dark paint.  Stir thoroughly.

Stir in ¼ cup of clear glue. Once it is stirred well, put onto a paper towel to dry. Pat the slime with more paper towels to absorb the excess moisture….there may also be some leftover liquid in the cup.

Squish and squeeze the slime with your hands. It can be very stringy and messy at first but it will come together. Hold it under a UV light bulb to charge it and then take into a darkened room!

Store in an airtight container.

Sand Slime

Ingredients:

1 Cup Elmer’s Washable School Glue

1/2 Cup Water {room temperature}

1/2 Cup Liquid Starch

Sand

Directions:

In one bowl mix 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup of glue (really mix to combine completely).  In another bowl measure out 1/2 cup of liquid starch.  Slowly mix the glue/water mixture into the starch with a spoon, make sure to get all glue out of bowl. Also start to add the sand in this step...a little glue and a little sand until they are incorporated, then add more!

Switch to mixing with hands for a few minutes until you feel it come together.

Store in an airtight container.
