E-Books (sometimes called "digital" books) are books with the same content as a physical book but they can be downloaded to your computer in an electronic format. When you buy an E-Book and download it to your computer, you can simply print out the pages as you need them.

Enhanced E-books have the same content as regular E-Books with additional features and benefits that make E-Books an interactive classroom experience. Enhanced E-books are unlocked PDFs, which allow users to copy and paste text and certain images into a word processor like Microsoft Word or Apple Pages, then add your own questions, pictures, or examples for truly effective lessons. You can also use text from Enhanced E-Books to build lessons for your Interactive Whiteboard, or take advantage of programs that can translate the content of PDF's into other languages. Some publishers (ie: Evan-Moor & Teacher Created Resources) also enable the use of the Typewriter Tool in Adobe Acrobat Reader in their Enhanced E-Books. If you are using a paid version of Adobe Acrobat, you can also rotate and extract pages, edit the text, and copy certain images or objects. By doing so, users can integrate parts of the book into their lessons, or re-arrange content to better fit their specific needs.

To view E-Books and sample pages on your computer (or to print them out) you will need Adobe Reader - a free piece of software you can download directly from Adobe's website. It is very important to make sure that you have the most recent version of Acrobat so please take the time to upgrade your copy - it's free!

Project your E-Book in PDF onto the screen using your IWBs software, then use whichever tools you would like to use (highlighting, drawing, shading, etc.). You can then save the image of the page with your notes, and print it for a student to take home, or save a series of pages to email to a student who is sick or absent.

Enhanced E-Books will project onto the display screen in the same manner as a regular E-Book. However, you will be able to cut and paste text from Enhanced E-Books into your own Interactive White Board lessons, saving you prep time.
