Step 1: Choose your favorite colors of construction paper, tear shapes out of each sheet except one, which will be used as the base. Arrange the shapes on the base and then remove.
Step 2: Use a big paint brush to coat the base sheet with clear gesso.
Step 3: Glue the shapes on the base sheet using more gesso. Brush one last coat of gesso over the entire sheet. Allow gesso to dry, this creates a toothy surface for applying pastels.
Step 4: When gesso is completely dry to the touch, finish the pastel collage by drawing with Reeves Soft Pastels on the cut-paper shapes.
