Step 1: Accentuate the facial features of the plastic face form with plastalina modeling clay.
Step 2: From a 9x17" piece poster board cut a 10" (at bottom) x 6" (at top) x 9" tall trapezoid to make the base. Trace the mask form. Cut an oval approximately .5" in from the traced line. Place the trapezoid over the mask, it should sit on the lip of the form. This will allow you to remove the plastic face form.
Step 3: Wet and apply three layers of gauze to mask and base.
Step 4: Cut another trapezoid measuring 8" (at top) x 6" (at bottom) x 4" tall from the poster board. Attach it to the forehead with three layers of plaster gauze.
Step 5: Use a 5x5" square of poster board to make a tapered cone, secure ends with tape. Attach cone to chin with three layers of gauze. Allow plaster to set and pop form from the back of the mask. The portrait mask uses approximately one roll of plaster gauze in all.
Step 6: Let mask dry thoroughly. Paint your portrait mask with Liquid Metal Paint. Add details with A>2 Chroma Art Students Acrylic Paint.
