   Directions

Step 1: Mix the wheat paste according to the directions on the package. Cut newsprint into strips, dip newsprint (or recycled newspaper) into the wheat paste and cover tray with four layers. Let papier mache dry.  >>view picture

Step 2: Crumple and tape pieces of newsprint to make armatures for the dinosaur’s body, legs, neck, head and tail.  >>view picture

Step 3: Use the newsprint and wheat paste to papier mache the body to the frame Step 4: Set aside two legs and then papier mache the other dinosaur body parts to the frame.  >>view picture

Step 5: To make foreground shapes, crumple and tape pieces of newsprint to the frame.  >>view picture

Step 6: Papier mache the foreground shapes and remaining two legs onto the frame and let dry.  >>view picture

Step 7: Fashion paper mache trees and grasses and papier mache them to the frame, let dry. Paint the scene with fluorescent acrylic, let dry.  >>view picture
