Paired Passages: Linking Fact to Fiction by Teacher Created Resources Grade 1

Help students develop and practice the skills they need to compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction passages. After each of the 25 pairs of passages, students are asked both multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Students will learn to differentiate between fiction and non-fiction; build reading comprehension & critical thinking skills; discover how fiction and non-fiction can be connected; and synthesize information from two contrasting passages.
