Use the techniques shown in this project to make your own cave paintings (also known as "parietal art"). This project also has an instructional video available!


Steps

  • Step 1
    Tear the edges of a piece of 12x18" gray construction paper into the shape of a rock.
  • Step 2
    Squeeze Crayola Texture It!, plus white and black tempera onto a plastic tray. Dab the medium and paint on the paper with a sponge.
  • Step 3
    Crumple the wet paper into a ball.
  • Step 4
    Uncrumple, shape the paper in the form of a rock and allow it to dry. Sponge on highlights using the Pearl It! and Glitter It!
  • Step 5
    Using earthtones, add animals onto the paper with a paint brush.
