A fun qulling project! Create your own holiday shadow box! You can customize for any holiday or event. This project also has an instructional video available!
Steps
- Step 1To make the shadow box, cut a piece of 1/8" thick Cellfoam into four equal squares (this will be enough for four projects). Place one square on top of a piece of 6x6" chipboard, trace the foam and use scissors to trim the excess from the chipboard.
- Step 2On a piece of paper, design a holiday shape and then cut it out with scissors. Trace the shape onto the Cellfoam square and use a craft knife to cut the shape out of the foam.
- Step 3Using white glue, attach the square piece of Cellfoam to the white side of the chipboard.
- Step 4Cut an 8x8" square of tissue paper. To add texture, crumple the tissue and then unfold it. Glue the tissue to the surface of the Cellfoam square (not to the inside of the shape), then wrap it around the sides and glue to the back of the chipboard. Cut out the holiday shape with a craft knife to reveal the inside of the shadow box.
- Step 5Glue 1/8" quilling paper to the inside edge of the box.
- Step 6Make quills and glue to the inside surface of the shadow box to complete your design. See the project video on YouTube for more complete quilling instructions.
