These life skills lessons are designed to help prepare students for possible careers in the real world. The first section, Job Descriptions, covers 28 different jobs in 9 different categories. Features information on what the job is really like, what training or education is needed, what the average salary is and future predicted job growth. Section two, Skills and Interests, offers engaging lessons to help students discover what type of job they are personally interested in and have a natural ability for. Section three, Education and Training, covers college degrees and trade schools, and explains how job training, internships and volunteering can help prepare students for a specific job. Lessons include a glossary of key words and phrases students may not be familiar with. Follow-up activities include practical application math, basic comprehension questions to reinforce understanding, and practical writing exercises.
