Hardboard panel offers a rigid and smooth painting surface which allows artists to produce fine details. Untempered so paints will adhere completely. Or, prime with gesso for oils or acrylics, or add gel and impasto mediums to build a unique surface. Can also be used as mixing palette or drawing board. Great for stretching and taping watercolor paper. 1/8" thick. 12x16".

Used to tape down watercolor paper

Purchased this as recommended for a watercolor course. It serves the purpose and is economical. However, when I tape down my watercolor paper with either Magic tape or Masking tape, it pulls some of the fibers off the board when I remove it. Now there are rough spots where the tape was.
