Make your favorite animal print into a t-shirt! Use resist for the animal print, and then tie-dye.
Steps
- Step 1Use permanent resist to paint an animal print on the T-shirt. Allow design to dry.
- Step 2Pre-treat T-shirt with soda ash, per the instructions, to activate dye and help to fix it.
- Step 3Fold T-shirt in accordion fashion or traditional spiral fashion and rubber band it loosely.
- Step 4Mix dye in empty squeeze bottles, according to directions on jar. Squeeze dye onto T-shirt, repeat with each color. We used red, yellow and orange colors. Place T-shirt in garbage bag and allow it to sit overnight.
- Step 5Remove rubber bands, unfold and rinse shirt. Allow it to dry.
