Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art Project

Materials:
Cardboard or Chipboard
Assorted Wood Shapes
Paint Markers
6" Circle Stencil or Compass
Craft Knife
Scissors
Glue



Use paint markers and wood shapes to create your own Pennsylvania Dutch hex sign!


Steps

  • Step 1
    With a stencil or compass, draw a 6" circle on a 6x6" piece of chipboard. Cut the circle out with scissors or a craft knife.
  • Step 2
    Color the chipboard circle base with paint marker. Decide on Pennsylvania Dutch design and gather wooden shapes. Color wood pieces with paint marker.
  • Step 3
    Once dry, glue painted wooden shapes to the circle base.
  • Step 4
    Continue coloring and gluing wooden shapes to the base. Cut smaller shapes from larger shapes if necessary.
  • Step 5
    Color and glue the last pieces to finish the design. Allow glue to dry.
