This Skutt kiln has a big opening and big power! Wide, 28" diameter allows you to fire large pieces and can accommodate more pieces at one time. The convenient lower height also offers easier loading of artwork and much safer access to fired pieces. The #1218-3 provides 6.6 cubic feet of chamber space with a 28-1/8" diameter by 18" height. Durable and reliable, Skutt kilns are made with high quality materials including Kanthal A-1 elements and reversible slabs. Spring-loaded Lid Lifter provides two-finger opening. Equipped with the KilnMaster electronic control system, providing accuracy and dependable results every time. Delay starting times up to 99 hours. The ramp/hold mode lets you design and save up to eight segments of temperature change, end temperature and holding time. You can also use the cone fire mode for hassle-free firing. A digital read-out shows messages and displays exact kiln temperature throughout firing and cool-down. Fires to cone 10, 2350 degrees F, so it is ideal for porcelain firings. 12-sided kiln features 3" Energy Saver firebrick, which offers better insulation, faster heat build-up and better heat distribution top to bottom.
