LeRoy Neiman was an American artist known for his brilliantly colored screen prints of athletes. Make your own collage featuring your favorite sports figure! Use neon acrylic paints to create a fun work of art that can be viewed with black lights. This project also has an instructional video available!

Steps

  • Step 1
Collect images of your favorite sport figures from magazines, newspapers or the internet.
  • Step 2
Cut out the images with scissors.
  • Step 3
Create a collage by using Elmer's Extra Strength Glue Stick to glue the cut-out images to an 11x14" sheet of XL Oil & Acrylic Paper.
  • Step 4
Paint the background of the collage with Chromacryl Neon Student Acrylic. Start out with a thin layer to establish your color scheme then go wild with heavy impasto strokes.
  • Optional Tip 1
Chromacryl Neon Students' Acrylic is bold in regular light, and electric in black light. Turn out the lights and shine a black light on the painting for cool effects.
