Use colorful patterned paper, chenille stems and glue to make fun holiday ornaments! This project also has an instructional video available!

Steps

  • Step 1
Use a glue stick to glue two sheets of patterned paper together.
  • Step 2
Horizontally, use a ruler and pencil to divide the patterned paper into eight equal strips. Use scissors to cut each of the strips.
  • Step 3
Leave a 1/2" tab at the end of one side. Make a 2-1/2" loop by folding over and gluing the tab to the other side to complete the loop. Use the hole punch to punch holes on both sides of the loop at 1/2" up from the bottom (above the 1/2" tab). Then punch holes on both sides of the loop at 1" above the first holes.
  • Step 4
Continue making and gluing loops, alternating the pattern paper so that you have four loops with one pattern and four loops with the opposite pattern. Punch holes in each of the loops using the method from Step 3.
  • Step 5
Use scissors to cut one sparkle stem in half. On the 1/2" hole, thread each of the loops on the stem, making sure to alternate patterns. Twist the ends of the stem together to make a circle.
  • Step 6
    Spread apart the loops.
  • Step 7
Using a full sparkle stem, thread it though the remaining holes, adding a bead to the middle of each loop. Twist together the ends of the stem.
  • Step 8
Add a string or piece of yarn for hanging.
