Construction Paper
Oil Pastels
Construction Paper Crayons
White Glue
Brown or Black Craft Sand
Funnel
Steps
Step 1Fold a sheet of 9x12" construction paper in half, then draw the main limbs of a tree on one side of the paper with white glue.
Step 2Add smaller branches to the main limbs.
Step 3Fold the paper in half again, opening quickly so the paper doesn't stick to itself.
Step 4Cover the entire sheet with brown or black sand.
Step 5Allow the glue to dry, then pick up the paper and carefully funnel the extra sand back into the container.
Step 6Color several sheets of construction paper with oil pastels and/or crayons. Our example uses 1/3 sheet of three green colors. Tear the sheets into 1/2" shapes, then glue them to the tree. Try with fall colors, too! Optional: Crumple the paper before tearing to add more texture to the leaf shapes.
