Construction Paper
Oil Pastels
Construction Paper Crayons
White Glue
Brown or Black Craft Sand
Funnel
Steps
- Step 1Fold a sheet of 9x12" construction paper in half, then draw the main limbs of a tree on one side of the paper with white glue.
- Step 2Add smaller branches to the main limbs.
- Step 3Fold the paper in half again, opening quickly so the paper doesn't stick to itself.
- Step 4Cover the entire sheet with brown or black sand.
- Step 5Allow the glue to dry, then pick up the paper and carefully funnel the extra sand back into the container.
- Step 6Color several sheets of construction paper with oil pastels and/or crayons. Our example uses 1/3 sheet of three green colors. Tear the sheets into 1/2" shapes, then glue them to the tree. Try with fall colors, too! Optional: Crumple the paper before tearing to add more texture to the leaf shapes.
